Single-row cylindrical roller bearings are usually guided by two ribs of one ring, consisting of cage, rollers and guide ring; they are generally separable, which facilitates mounting and dismounting — especially advantageous when both the inner and outer rings require interference fits. This type generally carries radial load only; single-row bearings with ribs on both rings can take small axial loads.
